DescriptionA big part of my life is striving for balance. Whether the balance is in a physical sense at the gym or in a more holistic sense of balancing the different social, family, school, and other aspects of my life. I try to take the time to notice the small things; we live in such a priviliged, beautiful city here in , I try not to take it for granted. To keep me balanced I try to incorporate indulging in my passions regularly. My biggest passion is salsa dancing. I love the thrill, excitement, and give-and-take of a lead-follow dance. For me, few things beat the feeling of a great dance. I haven’t danced for long, but my passion continues to expand as I become more submersed in the art and discipline of salsa.Another passion I have renewed last summer is quilting. I have enjoyed the creative, mathematical and geometrical aspects of finding and creating patterns for quilts. Choosing coordinating fabrics, creating the quilt top, and finally quilting the three layers of a quilt together is a long process, but each step is uniquely visually rewarding. Yet another passion of mine is the combined avenues of exercise, nutrition and health. As a nursing student and an avid gym attendee, my interest in these three fields seems like a no-brainer, and I suppose it is. It is really neat to learn new things about exercise, nutrition and health, then try the new idea and see results.
